Cold front moving in, likely to stay for a while

Posted: Updated:
EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

As a cold front moves into the western sections of East Texas this afternoon, our rain chances have increased quite a bit.

Isolated thunderstorms have fired up quickly out ahead of the front as the warm air and the cooler air collide. At this time, areas behind the front have quieted quite a bit, however, as the front slows...the rain chances will spread over most all of East Texas for the next several days.

Rainfall totals will likely be in the range of 1.00" to 2.00" from now through Sunday. Isolated amounts may exceed the 2.00" amount...generally over the western third of ETX.

Some of these storms may reach severe limits, however, most are expected not too. Please stay alert to some rainfall that may cause some minor flash flooding.
