Police identify victim in crash as Nacogdoches woman

TYLER, TX (KTRE) -

Tyler Police have identified the driver who died in a Sept. 11 one-vehicle crash as a Nacogdoches woman.

According to Tyler PD, Sarah Caitlin Stanley, 24, was on the way to her mother's residence in Flint when she crashed in the 400 block of West Cumberland Road shortly after 9:20 p.m. on Sept. 11.

Stanley was headed westbound when she struck a curb, left the road and crashed into a tree.

Police had to order an examination of dental records to confirm Stanley's identity. Firefighters discovered the car after it crashed into the tree and was engulfed in flames.

Stanley was already burned beyond recognition.
