TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
Released by the Tyler Police Department:
On 9/23/12 at approximately 0229 hours the Tyler Police Department received call from Trinity Mother Francis Hospital stating that they had received a patient in the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the hospital and were advised that the victim had a single gunshot to the chest. Officers spoke with the victim and two other witnesses and found that the shooting occurred while they were all in a vehicle at the intersection of University and Patriot. The victim's vehicle was located outside the hospital with numerous bullet holes in it. The actual crime scene was found at the intersection of University and Patriot. Officers found several shell casings at this location. The victim was admitted to the hospital and is in serious but stable condition. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call the Tyler Police Department.
