Nacogdoches man pleads guilty to sex assault of child

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches man guilty Monday to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

Jose Guadalupe Nava was set for a jury selection in District Judge Campbell Cox's courtroom. However, he entered the guilty plea to aggravated sexual assault of a child instead, with no plea agreement reached.

Nava will face a sentencing hearing on Jan. 4.

The incident was reported to Nacogdoches Police in March 2011 and Nava was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail the next day.

Police wittheld further information on the case in order to protect the victim's identity.
