Rescuers Use Jaws Of Life To Pull Man From Twisted Wreck

The accident happened on Highway 7 east, about 7 miles outside Nacogdoches. Department of Public Safety Officials say 22-year-old Joel Lloyd of Nacogdoches was driving west on highway 7 when for some unknown reason he went off the road and hit a tree.

The Blazer was so crushed he had to wait for rescue workers to arrive to use the jaws of life to cut him free.

After workers tore the roof off and got Lloyd out of the Blazer, he was taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Officers say by the look of the car he is lucky to be alive.
