HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) -

A Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper arrested a 49-year-old Zavalla man Tuesday evening for allegedly driving drunk with two 14-year-old boys in the vehicle.

Winston Rainwater is still being held in the Angelina County jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15, which is a state-jail felony. No bond has been set at this time.

According to Trooper Stephanie Davis, a public information officer with the DPS District Office in Beaumont, Trooper Joshua Senn assisted the Huntington Police Department with a traffic stop near the Family Dollar Store located on Highway 69 at about 8:30 p.m Tuesday. Rainwater was arrested by Senn after the Zavalla man allegedly failed a field sobriety test.

The DWI with a child under the age of 15 charge stemmed from the fact that Rainwater had his 14-year-old son and another boy in the car with him at the time of the traffic stop. Davis said the two boys were released into the custody of their respective family members.
