DPS: 3 caught with 15 pounds of weed in Polk Co.

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A cross-county chase between the counties of San Jacinto and Polk ended with three Longview residents begin arrested after troopers found 15 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle, according to an arrest report.

Corletta Michell Thurman, 38, Keelyn Demarcus Thomas, 22, and Reggie Howard, 29, are each charged with possession of marijuana. Howard is also charged with evading arrest.

According to the arrest report, a trooper caught them in a 2011 Dodge half-ton pickup around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday and tried to pull them over for speeding and an unsafe lane change.

According to the report, Howard would not stop and a pursuit began. Howard finally stopped on US 59, just north of Goodrich, according to the report.

Troopers conducted a felony stop and saw several bags of marijuana in plain sight and arrested all three people in the pickup.

The marijuana carries a street value of $8,627, according to the report.
