Houston County Sheriff's Office

On October 7, 2012 Houston County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding a family disturbance on FM 227 East.

Upon arrival, the suspect, John Robert McDonald, age 28, of Crockett, was inside the residence and was refusing to come out.  Deputies were able to talk McDonald into coming outside of the residence and was arrested.

After McDonald was taken into custody and handcuffed, he was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.  While deputies were finishing up with the investigation, McDonald escaped from the patrol vehicle but was apprehended in the driveway several feet from the vehicle he escaped from.

The investigation revealed that two people had been threatened with a deadly weapon and were in fear for their personal safety.

McDonald was taken to the Houston County Jail and booked in on two counts of aggravated assault with bond set at $50,000 for each count; theft of a firearm with bond set at $10,000 and escape with bond set at $10,000.  He is still incarcerated at this time.
