HOUSTON, TX (KTRE) - Houston County authorities uncovered a large marijuana farm near the Davy Crockett National Forest Wednesday.
According to Houston County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy GP Shearer, the marijuana was being grown between pine tree rows and most of it had already been harvested. Authorities with DPS and the sheriff's office cut down about 500 plants and gathered about 100 pounds of processed marijuana.
Shearer said the marijuana was burned on the site. It appears the operation had been going on for several months, Shearer said.
