CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

Crockett Police officers located and arrested a Houston County woman on a felony theft charge Thursday related a warrant issued by that county's district attorney's office following her indictment on 16 counts of theft by check.

Kristie Ynona Lockhart, 38, is still being held in the Houston County Jail on a theft between $1,500 and $20,000 charge. Her bond has been set at $15,000.

According to the indictment handed out by the 349th Judicial District Court, Lockhart allegedly wrote 16 hot checks totaling $731.51 to a variety of Houston County businesses including: Brookshire Bros., East Texas Medical Center, HEB Pantry Foods, KB Express, NAPA Auto and Truck Parts, and S&S Express. The amounts on the checks ranged from $18.26 to $87.50.

The indictment included an enhancement that bumped the charge to felony theft between $1,500 and $20,000 because Lockhart was also convicted of theft on two previous occasions – one in February 2007 and one in May 2010.
