TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

The Tyler Police Department is investigating a Friday evening robbery at a Tyler area bank.

Officials say around 3:45pm Friday, a man walked in to the Austin State Bank located in the 5-thousand block of Old Bullard Rd, and gave the teller a note demanding money. Officials also say that the suspect told the clerk that he had a weapon, but no weapon was ever displayed. After receiving an unknown amount of money, the suspect fled the bank on foot. Officers have searched the surrounding neighborhoods but were unable to located the suspect.

Tyler Police PIO tells us that this suspect is not the same suspect in numerous other area bank robberies, known as the Loan Ranger Bandit.

The suspect was last seen wearing a striped shirt, dark colored zip up hooded jacket, a white Texas Ranger's baseball hat with a red "T" on the front and blue jeans. He is described as a white male, in his mid 30's and about 6 feet tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).
