Diboll-area man dies from self-inflicted arrow injury, investigator says

This house down a long dirt driveway in diboll, is now considered an active crime scene after a fatal incident involving an arrow.

"Right now what we do know is that the subject did pass away from an arrow to the upper torso," said Chris wade, investigator for the angelina county sheriff's office.

There are still many unanswered questions but officials do know the arrow was fired by a crossbow. Investigators are not sure who called 9-1-1. Soon after the incident, the victim was put in the care of Lufkin memorial hospital. He died either on the way to the hospital or at the hospital.

Waid said that to his knowledge there has never been any domestic issues at the residence or any criminal issues involving the victim. The investigation is still ongoing but wade believes the incident only involved the victim.

Wade said, "We believe it's self inflicted at this time. We don't believe in any foul play at this time, but unsure right now until we complete the investigation."
