Henderson, Texas (KLTV) - Patrick Brown is not a fan of Halloween.
"I've gotten too old for trick-or-treating," said the Henderson senior. "I just enjoy scaring little kids with my name."
That's because Brown is a monster, literally.
"I do not like my real name," said Brown. "I prefer people to call me Monster. When I was a baby, they said that I acted like a monster, so that is how I got my nickname."
"We've only ever known him as that," said Henderson head coach Dickey Meeks. "So to us he is M.B. 'Monster Brown.'"
Monster is more than just a name.
It's the way Brown plays.
In the past two years, Brown has found the end zone five different ways.
"I've ran the ball, punt return, kickoff return, passed the ball and interception return."
"He's what coaches like to call a playmaker," said Meeks.
Two years ago he made plays to help get his name on a championship banner.
Now Monster, is back for more.
"I look forward to going all the way once again," said Brown. "Just pushing my team to do their best, and hopefully we will win a state championship this year."
To do so, Brown says he'll play the game the only way he knows how.
"I want to play like a monster."
