Lane Luckie joined KLTV in September 2012 as an anchor for Good Morning East Texas.
A graduate of Northwestern State University, Lane earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science.
Growing up in nearby Louisiana, Lane knows the people of East Texas are what make it so unique. Everyone has a story and he promises to do his best to tell each one fairly. Lane is a huge history buff and sees journalism as an ideal opportunity to write the "first draft" of history as it happens. He hopes his passion for lifelong learning encourages others to take an interest in knowing their community.
Lane previously spent four years as evening anchor and executive producer at KTRE-TV in Lufkin and Nacogdoches. In 2008, he came to East Texas from KTAL-TV in Shreveport, where he was a general assignments reporter. Lane also spent four years working for the Natchitoches, Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau. During college he completed internships at WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas and KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Lane's work has been recognized by several journalism organizations including the Broadcast Education Association and the Southeast Journalism Conference.
In his spare time he enjoys traveling and documentary photography. Lane is an alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and serves as president of the Beta Omicron Chapter Alumni Association and Housing Corporation. Lane was named "alumnus of the year" in 2011. He is also chapter advisor for the Iota Zeta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Stephen F. Austin State University. A proud graduate of NSU, Lane was named to the board of directors of the Northwestern State University Alumni Association.
Lane travels to college campuses facilitating the risk management programs "The Ladder of Risk" and "Alcohol Skills Training Program." These presentations help college students make smarter and safer decisions as undergraduates. Lane was named Pi Kappa Phi's "Facilitator of the Year" in 2012. In Lufkin, Lane was a mentor for students at Brandon Elementary through the H.O.S.T.S. (Helping One Student to Succeed) program. Recognizing that solid reading skills are the foundation of education, Lane worked with students in a classroom setting and provides one-on-one guidance to improve a student's reading abilities.
When outdoors, Lane enjoys being on a lake or river, boating and knee boarding. He's an avid college sports fan. When he's not chasing his next story, you'll find Lane having fun embarrassing himself with his lack of tennis and golf skills. Lane's favorite element of southern culture is good company and stories over a great meal.
