Zombies invade downtown Lufkin Friday Night

Posted: Updated:

If you plan on being in the downtown Lufkin area Friday night, you will likely run into a few strange characters.

Tomorrow night will be the first ever zombie walk in the city of Lufkin. Organizers of the event are expecting a good crowd of zombies, zombie hunters and just plain normal people.  The event is from 5:30 to 9 pm and is all for a good cause.

"It's to raise money for these kids, get them out here and let them do sports.  It's also to raise money for Winston park, which is the only wheel chair accessible park in the area. So all the proceeds we get, it all goes to them, said Gene Deab the creator of Zombie Walk Lufkin.

The entry fee is five dollars a person and there is a raffle with over 200 dollars in prizes.  The event begins at cotton square in downtown Lufkin and there will be an after party at the factory on Denman Avenue.
