LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin woman pleaded guilty Friday to lying about her employment status in order to receive food-stamp benefits, accepting a probation sentence.

Misty Cherie Haffner, 31, pleaded guilty in Judge Gerald Goodwin's courtroom to state-jail felony secure excecution of a document through deception.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Haffner filled out a state form in April 2009 and stated she was unemployed, when she was actually working for Big Lots.

She will be on probation for three years.
