NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office have arrested an Etoile sex offender who is accused of not being compliant with his requirements to register.

Authorities in Brazoria County arrested John Victor Andersen Jr., 28, on the sheriff's office warrant for third-degree sex offender's duty to register.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said the warrant was issued on Aug. 1, after authorities discovered during a periodic check that he was delinquent in checking back to make sure his information was current.

Kerss explained that the responsibility is on the sex offender to check in periodically.

Andersen was convicted of indecency with a child in 2003. The victim was a five-year-old girl.
