SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Tuesday night, a Smith County man was pronounced dead at the scene of a wrong-way accident along Interstate 20 near Hideaway Lake.

Around 8:45 p.m., Albert Singler, 81, of Lindale was driving into oncoming westbound traffic along I-20 when he hit another vehicle head-on, according to DPS.

On impact, Singler's 2003 Toyota Tacoma caused a 1999 Ford F-250 to overturn, injuring a driver and two passengers. The occupants of the Ford were treated and released at ETMC in Tyler. An 11-month-old baby in the Ford was properly restrained and uninjured in the accident, according to DPS.

Smith County Precinct 5 Judge James Cowart pronounced Singler dead at the scene.
