BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A tough week for the Jags, Saints and 9 Picks (4-5) and we are looking to bounce back. The Tigers enjoyed the week off and will be rewarded by playing number one Alabama. Southern travels to Alabama A&M and the Saints entertain the Eagles.

Let's get to it:

#1 Alabama (8-0, 5-0) at #5 LSU (7-1, 3-1)

Alabama comes into Baton Rouge this year just as LSU went into Alabama last year. The Tide has been number one for most of the season and has beat down any team in its path. But what teams? A very soft schedule and no close games leads to the question: is Bama that good or the competition that bad?

LSU has had an extra week to prepare for Alabama. Les Miles has been one of the few coaches to have success against Nick Saban. And the debacle that took place on January 9th looms large in the minds of the team and Tiger faithful.

Once again the game will come down to quarterback play. Can LSU pressure McCarron and hit him early and often and can Mettenberger handle Alabama's pressure?

Against South Carolina I predicted the crowd would be the difference against the Gamecocks and I will once again predict the crowd will help the Tigers upset #1 Alabama:

LSU: 23   Alabama:17

Eagles (3-4) at Saints (2-5)

I'm not sure ESPN expected this matchup to have two teams playing bad football and sporting records below .500. Michael Vick has had his struggles this year and there was talk that rookie Nick Foles might get the start against the Saints. Andy Reid is sticking with Vick and why not since he will be playing one of the historically bad defenses in the NFL. Was it me or did the Saints spend more time trying to strip the football against Denver's runners instead of making a tackle? Drew Brees and the offense struggled against the Broncos as well. This one looks to be another shootout in the Dome. The Saints have won seven MNF games in a row, make it eight:

Saints: 34   Eagles: 24

Southern (3-5, 2-4) vs. Alabama A&M (6-2, 5-2)

Southern and Alabama A&M have both loss their last two games. The Jags will try to overcome the distractions of this year, the latest being the suspension of backup quarterback JP Douglas. The Bulldogs are tied for first in the SWAC East with Alabama State and cannot afford another loss. The Jags have given up 99 points in their last two contests. Alabama A&M stays in the race:

Alabama A&M: 42    Southern: 24

Missouri (4-4) at #7 Florida (7-1, 6-1)

Missouri is riding high after winning the programs first SEC game against Kentucky. That won't last long, as Mizzou gets a reality check ... Florida needs a win to stay in the SEC East race and the Tigers will feel the Gator Chomp:

Florida: 33   Missouri: 14

#16 Texas A&M (6-2, 3-2) vs. #17 Miss. State (7-1, 3-1)

Miss. State's season may depend on this game. The Bulldogs were not expected to beat Alabama, but with LSU next, a loss to Texas A&M would be devastating. The Aggies are playing very good football. A&M's two losses have been to Florida and LSU. If LSU beats Alabama the winner of this game is back in the SEC West race. This will be a close game, but the Bulldogs will find a way to slow down Johnny Manziel and the Aggies offense:

Miss. State: 28    Texas A&M: 24

Ole Miss (5-3, 2-2) vs. #6 Georgia (7-1, 5-1)

After losing to South Carolina, Georgia rose to the occasion and beat Florida and now the Bulldogs are in control of their SEC East fate. Ole Miss has quietly had a good season, winning its past two games. The questions in this game are: what defense will show up for Georgia and will the Bulldogs be the victim of a let down? The answer to both questions is no, UGA gets one step closer to the SEC Championship.

Georgia: 27   Ole Miss: 14

#24 Oklahoma State (5-3) at #2 Kansas State (8-0)

Kansas State continues to play for a spot in the National Championship. This will be a test, but K-State has the answer - quarterback Collin Klein:

Kansas State: 40   Oklahoma State: 28

#4 Oregon (8-0) vs. #17 USC (6-2)

The Trojans have two chances to play spoiler as the season winds down. Oregon and Notre Dame both face USC. The Ducks have won 12 straight games on the road and this will be number 13, sorry Matt Barkley:

Oregon: 40   USC: 20

LA-Lafayette (4-3) at UL-Monroe (6-2)

The Warhawks have won five in a row, while the Ragin' Cajuns have had two setbacks since beating Tulane. We're taking the home team in this one:

ULM: 38   ULL: 28

LAST WEEK: 4-5 ... SEASON TOTAL: 42-20
