NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches man pleaded guilty Wednesday to trying to destroy drug evidence by eating it, accepting a probation sentence.

Jonathan Garcia, 17, took a 10-year probation sentence in District Judge Campbell Cox's courtroom on a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

During a traffic stop on the 1300 Block of South Street on Sept. 22, Garcia threw marijuana out of the vehicle. Garcia also attempted to eat the marijuana in an attempt to destroy evidence.
