LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A federal judge has denied bail for an Alabama man accused of kidnapping his stepdaughter.

Charles Dean Partin is accused of abducting his stepdaughter from Alabama state officials and attempting to take her to Mexico in September.

A San Augustine preacher, Chet Hensley, said Partin came to his church and asked for gas money. Hensley did not realize he was wanted by authorities until the next day.

Law enforcement officers managed to arrest Partin in Cincinnati.

In her ruling, Judge Susan Russ Walker said Partin is considered a high flight risk.

His trial is set for March 18.
