Nacogdoches Police officers arrest man for DWI after he strikes building with car

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 26-year-old man for driving while intoxicated after he allegedly drove his car into the side of an apartment building located in the 200 block of S. Church Street Sunday afternoon.

Jeremy Sean Ryan, 26, of Nacogdoches, was arrested on a DWI charge, his second, and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. No bond has been set on the Class A misdemeanor charge.

Nacogdoches Police officers responded to a report of a car striking a house between 4:40 and 4:45 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived at the scene, they found that a vehicle had indeed struck an apartment building at the Caddo Courtyard complex located in the 200 block of S. Church Street.

They made contact with Ryan, the driver of the vehicle, and "he was observed having the strong odor of alcohol on his breath. After Ryan did poorly on a field sobriety test, he was taken to the Nacogdoches County jail, where he blew over the legal limit on a breath test.

No one was injured in the accident. However, the collision did cause visible damage to the apartment building.
