LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
Lufkin
Police officers arrested 42-year-old woman who allegedly damaged body panels
and glass on a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Wilson Ave. before entering the
residence without permission and assaulting a 15-year-old boy early Sunday
morning.
Amalia
Mendoza Linares was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation with the
intent to commit another felony and criminal mischief between $1,500 and
$20,000. Her bond was set at $5,000 for each charge, and she bonded out of the
Angelina County Jail later Sunday.
When
asked why Linares committed the alleged assault and criminal mischief,
Detective J.B. Smith, the public information officer for the Lufkin Police
Department, said "the report does not give a reason for the assault or the
criminal mischief."
However,
the complainant told police that Linares was asking where her son was when the
incident occurred. The son was not at the residence at that time, but her son
is a friend of the 15-year-old boy who was allegedly assaulted.
