TOLLESON, AZ (CBS5) -

A second man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Tolleson woman on Nov. 1.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police Department said 20-year-old William Arthur Wright was arrested Thursday for first-degree murder.

Detectives believe that Wright and 50-year-old Ernest McAllum planned to rob and kill 32-year-old Bethany Lewin.

Authorities said the suspects did know Lewin but their motive is unclear.

McAllum was booked on one count of first-degree murder on Thursday.

Witnesses told police they were at the woman's home when they said they saw McAllum walk past them carrying an Uzi-type firearm with what appeared to be a silencer attached, according to a court document.

Phoenix police officers were called to conduct a welfare check and discovered a woman's body seated on a toilet in the bathroom. Police said she had been shot in the head. Officers said they found broken items, indicating signs of a struggle.

One of the witnesses said McAllum dismantled the firearm, put the pieces into a backpack and left with his son on a motorcycle, according to the court document.

Police were able to discern the suspect's identity and conducted a lineup using his driver's license. Witnesses positively identified the man and police arrested McAllum at his home.

McAllum told police he went to the victim's home to do some electrical work but denied shooting her.
