LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ (CBS5) -

Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station's warning alert system will be tested on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

The Palo Verde Emergency Preparedness Department is working with both state and county emergency management officials to test the warning sirens and will be activating the sirens twice.

The first test siren will be activated at approximately 12:00 p.m. and the second test will be at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Officials will be setting off all 48 sirens within the 10-mile area surrounding the plant in order to make sure they are functioning properly.

Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station wants to the public to know this is only a test.
