SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A 2-year-old Sabine County boy drowned in a pond in the Hemphill area around noon Monday.

Chief Deputy Tony Miller of the Sabine County Sheriff's Office said that his office requested that an autopsy be performed on the boy. He said the SCCO will not be able to release any further details until after they get the autopsy reports.

Miller would not give any additional information on the child's name or specifics about where the drowning occurred. The matter is still under investigation by the Sabine County Sheriff's Office.
