Inmate serving 20 years takes own life

FLORENCE, AZ (AP) -

An inmate, Timothy Ben, 29, in the custody of Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) died from an apparent suicide Monday.

Ben was serving his 20-year sentence for 2nd degree murder and unlawful use of means of transportation. His sentence came out of Coconino County.

Ben returned to ADC custody Jan., 5, 2006. He was being housed in at the ASPC-Eyman.

All inmate deaths are investigated in consultation with the county medical examiner's office.
