More than a half-ton of marijuana was seized by U.S. Border Patrol agents and other agencies in the Vekol Valley near Interstate 8 Monday.

The pot was found in an abandoned Chevrolet Tahoe that was reported stolen in Phoenix, according to a Border Patrol news release.

Tucson Sector agents, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputies on the ground searched the area for suspects but no arrests were made, according to the release.

The pot was turned over to the DEA and the Tahoe was turned over to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The marijuana was valued at $548,500.
