Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police have arrested two of four armed men suspected of breaking into a home near Northern and 43rd Avenues in Phoenix on Wednesday morning.

The suspects were found by a K-9 unit in a neighborhood near Interstate 17 and Glendale Avenue and at least one handgun was recovered, according to Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department.

Crump said the four men armed with handguns broke into the home about 2:50 a.m. and demanded a safe. When they couldn't find the safe, they fled in a gold Honda car.

The homeowner fired numerous shots that missed the car, but did strike some nearby houses, Crump said.

Police found the Honda on Interstate 17 and Glendale Avenue, where the occupants jumped from the car and fled into the neighborhood.

Police were still searching for the other two suspects.

No other information was immediately available.
