JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

Jacksonville Police have captured suspect believed to have been involved in four area robberies.

Kendall Deshun Lucas, 25, was arrested just after midnight Thursday at an apartment complex in southeast Jacksonville, according to police. Det. Greg Compton said Lucas was taken into custody without incident.

Lucas was arraigned Friday. Bon was set at $200,000 each on three aggravated robbery charges, $150,000 each on three unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon charges, and $1,500 on a charge of hindering a secured creditor, which is unrelated to the investigation into the armed robberies.

Investigators believe he robbed JC's Quick Stop on Rusk Street on Oct. 14, the J&J Food Mart on South Jackson on Oct. 22, and again on Oct. 23. The Texas Board of Pardon and Parole issued a warrant for a parole violation on an original burglary charge.

Lucas has ties to the local community through relatives and is reportedly a member of the Blood street gang.

"We've had numerous people from the city that know this gentleman and have come forward and said, 'That's who it is by viewing the still photographs we have from the armed robberies," Oden said.

Law enforcement officials first identified Lucas as their suspect around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and determined he was at a location on the east side of Jacksonville. As officers were preparing to surround the location Wednesday, Lucas fled.

"We were trying to surround the residence, and he happened to be outside when we were getting into position. He spotted us and it turned into a foot pursuit," said Jacksonville Police Det. James Oden.

Officers on the ground, as well as a Texas DPS helicopter and tracking dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, pursued Lucas for several hours but were unable to capture him. Lucas reportedly jumped a 6-foot fence behind the residence and took off down the street into a deep wooded area.

Lucas could face four counts of aggravated robbery and four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Police say he will likely be arraigned sometime Thursday.

Police say anyone that was found to have helped Lucas could also face criminal charges.
