NOGALES, AZ (CBS5) -

Authorities said they seized $560,000 worth of meth and heroin in two separate drug busts at the border on Thursday.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Luz Aidee Cubedo Figueroa, 37, of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, had 12 packages of crystal meth weighing more than 19 pounds in the trunk of her vehicle as she was trying to cross the Dennis DeConcini Port.

In the second case, officers at Mariposa Port found 13 packages of methamphetamine and heroin within the middle seat of a truck belonging to Hector Octavio Hernandez-Mazon, 25, of Nogales, Sorona, Mexico.

Figueroa and Hernandez-Mazon were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security investigators.
