NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officers are searching for at least two men who allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint  in an abandoned gas station parking lot Thursday night.

According to Sergeant Rob Thorne, with the Nacogdoches Police Department, the incident took place at 8:24 p.m. Thursday. Two men in a light-colored Impala allegedly approached the victim in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Shawnee Street.

The victim was apparently walking across the lot when one of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun towards the victim. Sgt. Thorne stated the man stole the complainant's wallet and the handgun that he had been carrying in a holster. The police report indicated that the victim was licensed to carry the handgun.

Both suspects fled southbound on Shawnee Street in the Impala.

Sgt. Greg Sowell, the public information officer for the Nacogdoches Police Department, confirmed that the victim is not a peace officer. However, he is employed as a probation officer.

"He was off-duty at the time, not acting in an official capacity," Sowell said. "It does not appear that his employment status had any connection with this crime. As with any violent crime, we will not be releasing the identity of the victim in this aggravated robbery case."

The victim described one of suspects as a "black male" who is 5'11" an approximately 110 pounds.

No injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
