Traffic on U.S. Highway 69 North detoured because of downed power lines

Posted: Updated:
LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Traffic on U.S. Highway 69 North between Lufkin and Pollok is being detoured because of downed power lines that fell across the road.

Oncor workers are on the scene trying to repair the damage caused when something from the passing traffic snagged the power lines and snapped a nearby power pole.

Northbound traffic is being detoured down Sugar Lane and back through Stubblefield Drive. Southbound motorists are being diverted down Chimney Rock and back by the Dollar Store.

Work on clearing the downed power lines is expected to take several hours.
