NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officers are investigating an incident in which a man dressed in camouflage allegedly approached a jogger on the Lanana Creek Trail and pointed a deer rifle at him.

Just before 6 a.m. Monday, the Nacogdoches Police Department received a call from a man that had been jogging on the Lanana Creek Trail. He told police that a middle-aged white man approached him near the back part of Pecan Park, which is located at 800 E. Starr Street, and pointed a deer rifle at him. The camo-clad man then re-entered the wooded area near the trail.

As a safety precaution, the NPD closed the section of Lanana Trail from Main Street to the rear of Pecan Park while they searched for the suspect, but no one was located. The trail was re-opened at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Sgt. Greg Sowell, the public information officer for the Nacogdoches Police Department, said the deadly conduct incident is still under investigation.
