Michelle Reed

Michelle Reed joined the KTRE News Team in October 2012 as a multi-media journalist. Michelle is a cum laude graduate from the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in English.

Michelle got her start in news as a production assistant and reporter for HoustonPBS. During her time there, Michelle became one of the founding members of the "College Smart" web series. The series focused on news and lifestyle topics relevant to students and young adults. Michelle learned the ins-and-outs of working as a news reporter and got the chance to report at Houston's Free Press Summer Festival as one of the only college media professionals in 2011.

During her senior year of college, Michelle was picked out of dozens of applicants to work as the only intern for "The Fox Report with Shepard Smith" at Fox News Channel in New York City. She has also interned at "The Houston Business Journal" and KRIV-TV, the Fox affiliate in Houston. Michelle is also a talented writer and has contributed to The Houston Chronicle. Her writing has also been published in Health & Fitness Magazine, and she has written several articles for foxnews.com.

Michelle grew up in Katy and is a native Texan. In fact, her family first planted roots in the Lone Star State in 1848.

Michelle is passionate about journalism and is thrilled to start her career in Lufkin. In her spare time, Michelle loves to write, play with her cat Dexter and listen to live music.
