Maegan Prejean joined the East Texas News Team in October 2012 as a video journalist. Maegan is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a double major in Radio/Television and Public Relations. As an undergrad at SFA, she reported, produced, and anchored the weekly SFA-TV news cast. She also reported for SFA's athletic department and Southland Conference TV.
Maegan grew up in Austin but never misses a chance to spend time with all of her family in Louisiana. She is the proud daughter of Barbara and Gerard Prejean. She has an older brother and an adorable nephew.
Maegan is a member of The National Broadcasting Society Alpha Epsilon Rho, Omicron Delta Kappa, and National Association of Black Journalists.
She is passionate about news and grateful to be back in East Texas. Meeting new people and making them smile makes reporting more enjoyable.
Maegan enjoys watching sports. Her favorite sports teams are the New Orleans Saints and San Antonio Spurs. She also enjoys playing basketball, watching scary movies, going to concerts all over Texas, eating Creole food and spending time with her family and friends.
