Livingston man killed in hunting accident

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating the death of a 71-year-old Livingston man who was killed in a hunting accident Saturday.

The victim was identified as Milton Celestine, a member of the Alabama-Coushatta tribe.

On Saturday, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call in reference to a shooting that occurred on the east side of the county. According to witnesses, Celestine and two other men were hunting when one of them accidentally fired the weapon that he was unloading, killing Celestine.

Celestine's body was sent to Jefferson County, where an autopsy was performed. Once the investigation is complete, it will be referred to the Polk County District Attorney's Office.
