Latest Mideast Developments

Israeli officials are refusing to meet with a group of mediators, who are in the region to talk about Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to pull out of the Gaza Strip.

The diplomats from the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia are meeting with Palestinian officials today.

The group is trying to push forward the Gaza pullout plan. But Israeli sources say they didn't want to take part before making firm decisions on their own positions.

Meantime, the Palestinians say a car blew up in Gaza City, but that the occupants had survived. It's not clear what caused the blast or who was in the car.

Israel has carried out previous attacks on suspected militants in the area.
