Study: Stores accurately reflect turkeys' weight

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -

A recent test on the accuracy of turkey prices at 14 supermarket chains in Arizona found that none of the stores were misrepresenting the weight of the birds.

The Arizona Department of Weights and Measures says its inspections of stores in October and November shows that the stores were accurately pricing and weighing their turkeys.

The agency says stores must charge customers for the weight of the turkey and can't include plastic leg bands, giblet bags, packaging and other items in the weight.
