HUDSON, TX (KTRE) -
A 27-year-old
Lufkin woman was arrested Saturday night after she allegedly punched and kicked
a Hudson Police officer that was attempting to arrest her.
Amanda
Johnson is still being held in the Angelina County jail on a third-degree
felony charge of assaulting a peace officer. She was also charged with no
driver's license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
Collectively, her bond was set at $5,702.
According
to Hudson Police Chief Jimmy Casper, one of his officers stopped at convenience
store Saturday night. On his way into the store, he spotted a car with an
expired registration sticker. When he approached the car, he noticed two people
in the front with open containers of alcohol.
The
Hudson Police officer told Johnson to pour the alcohol out, she told him to "(Expletive)
off." Then, when the officer went to the driver's side door to arrest Johnson,
she started punching and kicking him.
