2 Center residents killed in early morning wreck

SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Center man and woman died after driving into a tree on State Highway 87 Tuesday morning.

Jouwana Q. Standley, 34, died at the scene. Martin Baxter Patton, 42, died at a Center hospital at 8:25 a.m.

According to the DPS report, Patton was driving a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria southbound on Highway 87 when he left the road and struck a tree, 1.2 miles south of County Road 2050.

Neither Standley nor Patton were wearing seatbelts.
