Lufkin Police arrested a man Tuesday accused of injuring his four-year-old daughter after punching his wife in the mouth.

Marco Antonio Rodriguez, 25, of Lufkin, is charged with state-jail felony injury to a child and class A misdemeanor assault.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Lufkin Police responded to the 800 block of South Second Street on Nov. 18 in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived, they spoke to Rodriguez's wife, who said she got in an argument with her husband and he punched her in the mouth, while she was holding their one-year-old child. He then pushed her and she fell on her four-year-old daughter, she said.

The four-year-old suffered a busted lip.

According to the affidavit, Rodriguez left the scene.

Police obtained a warrant based on the injuries on Nov. 18. He was booked into the Angelina County Jail on Tuesday, where he is being held on a collective bail of $6,500.
