Bright Lights Business (BLB) acknowledges the efforts of the recently formed New York City Hospitality Alliance for bringing the entire industry together and offering a membership attainable to all businesses in the industry.
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2012
BLB, http://brightlightsbusiness.com/, issued a statement this week recognizing the alliance for offering membership to all businesses regardless of size and profits allowing the entire industry to come together as many businesses continue to struggle following the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy.
The NYC Hospitality Alliance was formed earlier this year as a unified voice and to offer education, training and resources to those in the hospitality industry, from bars and lounges to restaurants and suppliers. Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm are among the founding members of the alliance.
The alliance advocates to all levels of government, in addition to offering resources to members, in an effort to encourage investment and growth. Nearly two dozen people representing all aspects of the business came together in 2012 to found the alliance, which has since guided the industry through changing regulations and one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit the city.
The NYC Hospitality Alliance was launched over the summer and offers those in the industry a voice at all government levels as well as a multitude of resources aimed at helping the entire industry grow and prosper. The alliance has already been forced in to action on several occasions, dealing with the government over proposed regulation changes as well as the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. At the end of October Sandy caused wind damage, flooding and power outages that resulted in many damaged homes and businesses across several states in the Northeast. It took upwards of two weeks to restore power to the entire city, though some homes and buildings had to wait even longer because of damage that prevented lines being repaired.
