LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man has entered a plea agreement in his role of marijuana-selling out of his home.
Court records show Marcel Cornelius Montgomery, 35, has entered a written plea agreement. He is charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense and felon in possession of a firearm.
A hearing in which the plea takes place has not been set.
His co-defendant, Porsche Denise Davis, 26, of Lufkin, has been ruled competent to stand trial. Jury selection and a trial are set for Dec. 10.
Lufkin Police arrested them on May 20 after responding to a disturbance.
Officers said they discovered approximately two pounds of marijuana and two handguns inside the home.
The marijuana, a .25 caliber handgun, and a box of .380 caliber ammunition were found inside a gym bag, according to police.
A further search led police to a dirty clothes basket where they located a .380 caliber handgun.
Both Davis and Montgomery have prior felony convictions, making them ineligible to possess a firearm.
