DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Diboll Police officers arrested a 42-year-old man on an injury to a child arrest warrant Wednesday for allegedly slamming his 9-year-old son's head into a steel door.
Mikeal Alan Bradshaw, of Diboll, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a injury to a child charge, which is a state jail felony. His bond has been set at $5,000.
According to the arrest affidavit issued by the Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace office, a DPD officer went to Diboll Elementary School to investigate an injury to a child report. While he was there, the boy told him that his father had slammed his head into a steel door.
The incident happened at the family's residence in the 600 block of N. Second Street in Diboll. Bradshaw and the victim's mother got into an argument about the father's drinking, according to the arrest affidavit.
The boy told the officer that his father told him not to disrespect him. According to the affidavit, Bradshaw allegedly grabbed his son by the face "as if palming a basketball and slammed the back of his head into the front door, which is made of metal."
According to the affidavit, the boy told the DPD officer that he had been experiencing head pain since the incident. In addition, the officer interviewed the mother, who confirmed everything the boy said.
The Diboll Independent School District is not involved in this investigation.
