A Winner's Recipe - Alana's Chicken

Congratulations to Alana Skylar of Tyler for submitting the winning recipe for November. Alana's Chicken recipe will be cooked on air with Grant Dade and Dudley's Cajun Cafe. It will air during GMET on December 11, 2012.

Alana's Chicken

  • 1 Whole Chicken
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 2 Stalks of Celery
  • 3 Gloves of Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of Vinegar
  • 3/4 Cup Dry White Wine
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Tablespoon Rosemary
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

 

Cut up chicken into serving pieces, separating drumstick from thigh, etc. Set aside. Put olive oil in pan, medium heat. Add onion, garlic and celery. Saute` until onion and garlic is golden. Add chicken, salt and pepper. Brown chicken on both sides. Add remaining ingredients. Turn down heat, cover and simmer for about 45 minutes until done. Serve over wide egg noodles.
