Livingston woman killed in head-on collision

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Livingston woman died following a head-on collision in Polk County Monday morning.

Kristy Leah Nettles, 28, died at 7:29 a.m. at the scene of the accident.

According to the DPS report, Nettles was driving a 2005 Pontiac G6 westbound on FM 2665 at 5:40 a.m. when she was hit by a 1996 Chevy Silverado, driven by Angel Benign Nava, 29, of Mission. Nava was eastbound and crossed into the westbound lane.

Nava is listed in critical condition with head, neck, back and internal injuries at a Houston hospital.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
