Memorial fund, funeral arrangements set for ETX fire fighter

Funeral arrangements and a memorial fund have been set up for an East Texas firefighter who died Monday from injuries he suffered in a wreck late last week.

Friday, 20-year-old Jalen Smith and two other Jackson Heights firefighters were on their way to another crash when the wreck happened on FM 2767 in Smith County.

A memorial fund for Jalen's family has been set up at the Austin State Bank.

It's called the "Jackson Heights Volunteer Fire Department Benefit Account for Jalen Smith."

You can go to any Austin Bank location to donate.
     
Jalen Smith's funeral will be Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.

A public viewing will be Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
