Film documents declining drug violence in Mexico; debuts in Scottsdale Friday

Posted: Updated:

Filmmaker Charlie Minn is preparing to debut his third film documenting the drug violence that has plagued Juarez, Mexico.

The New Juarez opens Friday at Harkins Camelview in Scottsdale. The film, Minn says, is his third and final look at the wave of drug violence that has killed more than 100,000 Mexicans since 2006.

A portion of the proceeds from the film will go to charities benefiting victims of violence in Juarez.
