TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

After four episodes, CMT is holding off on airing new episodes of "Big Texas Heat," the reality show about the Trinity Police Department, until 2013.

According to Amanda Murphy, the spokeswoman for CMT, the show will be back next year, but a firm air date has not yet been set.

"We're such fans of the show that we want to schedule it in the New Year in an earlier time slot, to give the series the exposure it deserves," Murphy said in an email.

CMT has six more episodes to air in 2013.

The show chronicles Chief Steve Jones and his officers' work and antics while on duty in Trinity.

Jones and Officer Donald "Big Sexy" Givens have recorded an interview with Steve Harvey for the "Steve Harvey Show," which will air on Friday.
